The Silicon Valley Suicides

You worked with The Atlantic article today creating text connections.  To continue your work, attempt to write a rhetorical precis using the outline/format.  This is practice FOR YOU and your understanding of the precis will be important for next week's work.

Be well my students.

Last Outliers discussion tomorrow!!!!

  1. The article really opened my eyes. The fact that some people may appear to be doing just fine, even when deep down, they are not really showed me how important it is to be kind to everyone. Never judge someone for being stressed because they have straight A's. All of us have problems- and knowing that- we can work together to help understand the root of our fears and anxiety. Understanding fosters change and we can't make a difference if we don't start somewhere. So talk to someone. You could help each other more than you know (or think).

  2. I totally agree with you Alyssa I realized it also tied into my SAS on the book Love by Leo Buscaglia( I don't know if you remember) and how his student wouldn't have committed suicide if someone would have simply said hi to her on her way to the Golden Gate Bridge. It's crazy how our words and actions can really save life's!
