I know the majority of us students really enjoy music, so it is interesting to find the deeper meaning behind our favorite songs, and realize how and why the song was written. I am excited to see how our chosen songs will end up becoming a meaningful project.

ReplyDeleteI don't think Elton John consciously put meaning behind his lyrics, but the subconscious mind sure has a way of showing itself. Nothing is really ever truly random.

ReplyDeleteI honestly never realized I didn't know the words to that song, and then I danced to it while reading the lyrics. It's eyeopening to see how much effort goes into a song.

ReplyDeletethere's this really cool feature on spotify where on certain songs it will show you the lyrics and the meaning behind them, and the situation around the creation of the song, which reminds me of this project. so many times i've loved a song and then loved it all over again once i realized what was being said.
ReplyDeleteThe words to my song were shokingly surprising after I read them because I would have never guessed the depth of the intended meaning of the lyrics.
ReplyDeleteWhat Kurt said about his lyrics, and how to him they seem like crap, or nothing special, really resonated with me. Poetry and music are special in the sense that everyone's interpretation is different.
