  2. i love the diction in this poem. the word choice makes it all the more powerful. i think it is important to have strong diction in poetry, because a lot of the time you have less words, so each one needs to have more impact. thanks for showing us this poem! -satori jelden

  9. Rupi Kaur is one of my favorite poets. I've read Milk and Honey multiple times and it never disappoints.

  10. If you go back to 2015 on my instagram, Rupi Kaur was prominently there. This poem was actually the first I uploaded because it spoke to me so much.

  11. Took me a little bit to make this connection but in this piece it talks about feeling in extremes. When she loves, she loves wholeheartedly and this often leads to her being shattered. In Brené Brown's TED talk the Power of Vulnerbility, she says that it is imparitive that we do things that make us vulnerable because that is how we are able to experience amazing opportunities. In Rupi Kaur's poem she says "...perhaps that isn't such a good thing..." but after watching the TED talk I believe it is worth it to be vulnerable and risk being shattered because you also have a chance of experiencing love.
