Happy Labor Day Weekend, Lovelies. I can honestly say it has been a pleasure getting to meet you this week. I appreciate your kindness as I learned your names (may I applaud myself for learning them by the end of class Tuesday?) and as I blathered on about the class. Also, a HUGE thank you for stepping up and presenting. That certainly isn't easy. I know that, and I recognize that.
I'm off to enjoy some rest and relaxation with my husband and daughters, and I hope you get to enjoy yourselves too. Before Tuesday, make sure you do something kind for yourself (watch Shakira's "Try Everything" video and watch those tigers). I do have one teensy little "test" for you though.
Comment on this blog post.
I'll be checking the comments a couple times this weekend and I'll publish the ones that are there (unless you explicitly say DO NOT PUBLISH).
Let's see what kind of Jamba Juices we are dealing with.
Love and Light,
Beltran

DeleteFirst week of school was interesting, to say the least. However whatever the year might throw at us, whether it's new dance moves or a time consuming project, I'm just wondering if I can handle what comes next!
ReplyDeleteyou don't want to be a melted separated jamba juice in this class, step out of your comfort zone and do something that you would of never done previously..
ReplyDeleteTo be honest, I was super bummed that I had to miss your class for the grade level assembly. It's always the highlight of my day. Can't wait for more dancing and existential crises. See ya Tuesday!

ReplyDeleteOne thing that you did this week that was amazing was learning everyone's names in 3 days. Not only does it applaud your memorization skills, it gives me an identity in your class on the very first week! In most of my other classes, they still call me Daniel and I still have to correct them, so thank you for learning all of our names and making us more than just names on a roster!
ReplyDeleteWow! What a fun week to begin the year. I tried the tiger dance in the mirror and then I saw my mom laughing at me, but who cares, you have to try everything!
ReplyDeleteHi Ms. Beltran! I hope you and your family are enjoying your long weekend! Thanks for starting off the year with all smiles and such an inspiring attitude. I'm looking forward to the rest of the year in your class!!

ReplyDeleteI hope you had a great long weekend Mrs. Beltran! Thank you for a great first week. See you tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteas i'm sitting in my room listing to prince reading these sophomores, that are almost juniors, comments i think back on a time where i did not email Beltran and now regret it.So email! or at least make a connection with one new person in your classes because you will never have the opportunity to be in THAT room with THAT specific group of people with THAT teacher blowing your minds everyday, so make the most of your time. This is coming from someone who literally failed the AP exam but got 108% in the class, it's not about the grade or score, you're not going to look back on that class and remember the grade but you will remember the awkward clapping to songs and the times you felt vulnerable and totally survived. The faster you guys find that out the faster you'll realize what the class is actually about.
ReplyDeleteCan’t wait for this week!
ReplyDeleteI hope your three day weekend was well spent! See you soon and can't wait for this week.
ReplyDeleteHope your 3 day weekend was great!
ReplyDeleteSo far this class is great, it makes me think outside the box and I love it. Hope you had a great 3 day weekend. Ready for whatever the future holds.
ReplyDeleteRight now this class is my favorite one, I am really enjoying it. Hope you had a good labor day weekend.
ReplyDeleteI am hoping I'm able to make some friends by the end of this week since it is my first year here. So,,, if anyone wants to be friends say hey lol. Hopefully this class will bring me out of my small comfort zone.
ReplyDeleteWe get to dance and watch TED talks?? This class is already incredible!!! Can't wait for what this class has in store.
ReplyDeleteLast night I finished my book (City of Heavenly Fire) and I haven’t felt that much joy since the last book I read. I hope whoever ends up reading this has an amazing rest of their day.
ReplyDelete- Sam Francisco period 3
This year is going to be fun, especially in this English class. We get to dance, watch TED talks, pick our own grades, and enjoy my year in this class.
ReplyDeleteI’m so very much looking forward to watching TED talks in your class! I love TED talks I actually have a friend who’s 18 and just graduated from MIT and he’s currently programming robots to go to mars for NASA, yes that’s a crazy sentence I have a hard time believing it myself but he’s preparing to give a TED talk sometime this year!
